Chinese Philosophy “Summer Camp”
For the next few weeks, I’ll be studying traditional and contemporary Chinese thought in Beijing with an international group of scholars. Instructors hail from Canada, China, the Netherlands, and the US; students are coming from across the world. I’m on my way there hoping to learn something that will inform my current poetry project. Thanks to Professor James Miller of Queen’s University for helping to make this opportunity possible, and thanks also for the generous scholarship funding of the program’s various sponsors. It should be an amazing experience. Oh, and it won’t look quite like the photo below when I am there in July. Instead, it will be 40 and humid…and smoggy.
